Q&A: What is one thing MORE business leaders should be doing during this time?

2 minutes to read

Many of the attorneys we work with have asked a common question over the past few months:

What is ONE thing we’re doing in our business that more leaders should be doing during this time?

Here’s the answer straight from Crisp Founder & CEO Michael Mogill:

It’s reinforcing commitment.

Commitment starts with you as a leader first and foremost. You demonstrate it not just through your words, but in your actions.

How committed are you to your team? Do you invest in them? Do you support them? If you furloughed 75% of them then you’re not as committed to them as you might think. If you are truly committed to your team, you’re investing in your team.

You also must ask yourself whether you’re truly committed to your clients? Are you committed to your long-term vision for your organization?

If you are, you will continue to make decisions that fall in line with where you want to go, as opposed to pulling back and not investing in your business.

When you’re truly committed to something — and you’re putting that commitment into meaningful action — you’ll get the best results. You’ll make real progress toward that commitment.

In addition to reflecting on your own commitment, this is a great time to reinforce commitment with your team.

If the team at your law firm is not all-in, it will be very evident during a time like this.

Times of crisis are great times to reevaluate who’s on the bus, who you need to kick off the bus, and who out there is ready to get on the bus.

There are a lot of people that are willing to commit to a long-term vision right now. There are over 40 million of them right now. This is a really great time to elevate, to bring great people into your organization, and to think about the type of talent that you believe you’ll need to have in the next three years, five years, 10 years, and so on.

It’s time to really reevaluate your commitment to your business, and to your long term future.
