At this year’s Summit, we were honored to support Kate’s Club, a community for children and teens, their families, and young adults who experienced the death of someone close to them. With an emphasis on peer support, connection, and fun, Kate’s Club programs provide a place where grief is community.
100% of proceeds from the Summit swag shop and donations made directly by attendees went to supporting this worthy cause — and together, these game changers raised $60,000 for bereaved children in our community.
About Kate’s Club
The mission of Atlanta-based Kate’s Club is to empower children and teens, their families, and young adults facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, caregiver, or someone important to them.
The organization was launched in 2003 with a gathering of six children for a social outing at an Atlanta bowling alley. Since then, Kate’s Club has grown into a dynamic, statewide non-profit that has helped more than 10,000 grieving children and teens, their families, and young adults understand how to cope with their grief and know they are not alone.
According to the organization’s website, “Kate’s Club is a place where being separated from someone important to you can be connective. Where experiencing a death can mean entering a new chapter of life. And where missing someone can lead to feeling seen. In this club, grief is challenging but it’s also growth — an example of how every part of life can become a chance to have a positive experience if you’re supported and among a community.”
We were honored to welcome dedicated leaders from the Kate’s Club organization onstage at the 2024 Game Changers Summit to share their important work with the audience, inviting all in attendance to come together to provide meaningful support.
