ATLANTA — August 17, 2021 — For the 5th year in a row, Inc. magazine has named Crisp to its annual Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in America.
For a company that has made rapid growth part of its culture (and part of its promise to the law firms it serves), this award demonstrates that the company walks its talk.
“Something I always emphasize to the law firm owners we work with is not to take advice from anyone who doesn’t have the results,” says Founder & CEO Michael Mogill. “Awards like the Inc. 5000 mean a lot to us for that reason. We know what it takes to grow a business — and to keep growing year over year. Everything we recommend to our clients, we are doing for ourselves. That’s how we know it works.”
To earn a spot on Inc. magazine’s prestigious list, a company must be US-based, privately held, and bring in a minimum annual revenue of $2M or more. Growth is measured in terms of revenue and employee growth — factors that Crisp has blown out of the water in recent years.
In fact, 2021 has yielded more exciting changes for the company than ever before.
A New Home
At the end of May, Crisp opened a brand new headquarters in the Underwood Hills area of Atlanta, complete with a state-of-the-art training center to host workshops for its hundreds of Crisp Coach clients and their team members.
The new building — custom designed and renovated over the course of 2020 — is more than 10 times the size of the previous office (from 4,000 square feet to 50,000). The training center alone can accommodate up to 250 people and features modular walls that can divide the space into three rooms, so multiple training sessions can be held simultaneously to multiply impact.
Additionally, the brand new Crisp HQ includes:
- A stadium-quality 20-foot LED wall
- Five conference rooms with privacy glass that can turn from clear to opaque and UHD displays
- Four-zone audio system distributing music to pre-function and patio areas
- High-tech white noise system enabling multiple phone calls to occur simultaneously without disruption
- Lobby/pre-function area with Ultra-HD 219” LED display
- High-tech podcast studio with full control room
- Custom catering kitchen for special events
- Two patios
Expanded Benefits
This new space was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to the investments Mogill made in the Crisp team in 2021. In August, he announced that the company had invested over $1 million in expanding health care benefits to all team members. Crisp now provides 100% coverage on health, vision, and dental benefits as well.
More crucial than the investment size is the immediate impact the new benefits will have. Mogill felt this was crucial in maintaining team member wellness and instilling a sense of care from day one.
This new team first benefits package will join Crisp’s other company benefits including:
- A 401(k) with 4% company match
- 5 weeks paid time off, including 7 paid holidays plus the entire week between Christmas Eve & New Years
- Parental leave: additional weeks of parental leave at 100% salary for new birth and adoptive parents plus Instacart membership
- Annual company bonus program in a profitable, fully bootstrapped company
- On-time direct deposit
- Ergonomic workstations with high end sit/stand electronic desks
- Mother’s room and relaxation room onsite
- Monthly Crisp swag
- A chance for a team member to win a Tesla (Crisper of the Year)
“Organizations like ours play a vital role in creating a better future,” CEO Michael Mogill said about the investment into benefits, “and that starts with investing in your people. We have always taken our success and invested it back into our team. I am particularly proud as a self-funded company to be able to make an investment of this size into our people. After a year like 2020, I never want any of our team members to be concerned with their health and well-being.”
Clearly, Crisp’s growth has empowered leadership to make bigger and better investments in the team, their capabilities, and their clients. All these investments are designed to support Crisp team members as well as Crisp clients at a higher level — and with that higher level of support has come greater and greater business growth. This Inc. 5000 award is testament to that.
A Bright Future
What’s more impressive is to make the Inc. 5000 list multiple years in a row. Fewer than 1% of companies on the Inc. 5000 list have stayed on that list for five years in a row, so Crisp is among top-tier companies in that regard.
“Consistency is one of our core values at Crisp,” explains Mogill. “Along with Better Than Yesterday and Results Driven (among others), those values are a big reason why we have been able to maintain this growth rate and the momentum we’ve built in this industry. Not very many companies can say they’ve made the Inc. 5000 at all, let alone for five years straight. I’m incredibly proud of the team and the impact we’ve made for our clients over the past five years.”
They plan to nearly double the team by 200% by the end of 2021, and that is only the beginning. Crisp is on a growth trajectory with no end in sight — and surely the most recent Inc. 5000 list is the 5th year of many more.
