Complexity scales up, clarity scales down. “Your job as the leader is to take complexity and your aim is to create clarity and to simplify. It can be complex on the way up, but it should be clarity and simplicity on the way down.”
Not making a decision is making a decision. “If you have about 70% of the information, that’s enough to make a decision, because not making a decision is making the decision. Sometimes you delay things, and there’s a cost to that, the opportunity cost of not making a decision.”
World-class operators are only right 60% of the time. “As long as you’re right 51% of the time, you will get to where you’re going. Even if you’re an elite, elite, elite business operator, CEO, you’re probably world-class if you’re 60-40.”
You’re training the dog to come to you. “If they’re always coming to me and you’re always giving them the answer, then you’re training the dog to come to you so that you give them the answer.”
