Creativity is the clash between what is and what could be. “You have a thesis, which is an idea. And then you have an antithesis, which is the opposite of a thesis. And the idea of what people associate with creativity is the clash between those two.”
Being different beats being better. “It’s sometimes more important to be different than it is to be better, especially when you’re in a very saturated market where consumers view legal services as a commodity.”
Same behaviors produce the same results. “If you do the same things that everybody else does, why would you expect drastically different results from everybody else who does those same things?”
Exceptional people get exceptions. “If somebody is going above and beyond and is kicking ass, of course, you get special privileges. If you don’t miss your targets for ten years, you can do what you want.”
